Pirates and the Chinese navy

Following recent reports of mercenaries killing pirates form Somalia we now have a Chinese naval contingent berthed at Port Zayed in Abu Dhabi – the first ever visit of Chinese warships to the UAE. The Chinese warships will berth for four days – part of the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) contributions to intentional naval deployment in the Gulf of Aden to protect commercial ships and oil tankers from piracy

There are enough trade difficulties as it is without piracy.
