Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 for companies in the Services Industries (e.g. Professional Services, Architecture / Engineering / Construction, IT services, Media and Entertainment, Industrial Catering, Event management, Audit, Training, Security Services, Facility Management) etc.

Typical operational management roles and their challenges

• Account Manager: The sales rep is responsible for contacting customers to create a pool of prospects and creating quotes. Once those quotes and prospects have been approved they then need to be converted to projects and customers respectively. Sales reps struggle with managing the sales process and keeping track of the status of each prospect.
• Project Manager: Project managers need to be able to create projects, define project requirements, assign resources, create budgets, and manage time and expenses. Project Managers struggle with being able to manage all of these functions using multiple sources instead of having everything available in a single application.
• Consultant: The consultant is responsible for executing the work and recording the time on specific projects, keeping track of their expenses and managing their availability. They struggle with being able to track these items in a central location and to make that information immediately available to their project managers.

There is need for coordination with HR, Payroll, Finance, Inventory and Asset management, Purchasing, and Customer Service, and cross functional approval workflows. Reporting is needed by project, for a group of projects by customer, lien of business or geography. Estimates, budgets, cost control, forecasts and cost to complete analysis, subcontractors, advances retentions, milestone billing… how many systems does it take? Just one! Microsoft Dynamics Ax is an integrated solution.

Engage clients, simplify service delivery, and expand into new markets—reimagine the project lifecycle to transform your business. Dubai Construction – BIM mandate – Synergy Software Solutions, Dubai, has the answer

August 2nd, 2014

We introduced BIM to the region back in 2008.

Dubai Municipality has mandated the use of BIM for architectural and MEP works for :
According to this important document (number 196 – dated Nov 18, 2013), Dubai’s Municipality formally informs all design and construction companies operating in Dubai that it has decided to mandate/dictate BIM for architectural and MEP works for
(a) all buildings 40 stories or higher;
(b) facilities/buildings that are 300,000 sqft or larger;
(c) all hospitals, universities and other similarly specialized buildings; and
(d) all buildings that are being delivered by/through an international party.

The announcement also states that this decision to mandate BIM is based on the (proven) ability of BIM tools and workflows in improving construction quality, enabling collaboration between project participants across project phases, lowering costs, reducing time, unifying specifications/standards, facilitating QTO and cost planning.

It also stated that this decision is preliminary – stage 1 to come into force on January 1, 2014. Finally, the document states that consultants – architects, engineers and similar,( no mention of contractors) – are legally responsible to fulfil this dictate.

Dubai’s BIM mandate comes in the wake of increasing global adoption of BIM.
- – The EU made BIM a mandate in January 2014.
- In Singapore, BIM is mandatory for all public housing projects.
- IN U.K. government contracts will mandate BIM from 2016
- It has had widespread adoption in Scandinavia and the USA for many years.

Once International Construction companies adopt BIM in one country they will soon rollout to other countries and that factor will also force an increase adoption here by all contractors, architects etc.

Construction is one of the few industries where productivity has decreased almost year on year for the last 40 years. More congested cities. tighter planning and Health and Safety legislation may be contributing factors but the low adoption of enterprise IT relative to other industries is the major factor. This reflects an industry that often thinks on a project basis, and this has a high labour turnover which discourages long term investments and training. This e with longer term vision are reaping the rewards of BIM.

Design out mistakes before they reach site, integrate plans across the supply chain, and the savings are obvious yet BIM offers much more. Collaboration from the outset between all of the design disciplines – the client, contractor, specialists and suppliers – is fundamental to ensuring the best design, construction and operating solution and the BIM models and BIM workflows help to achieved this “right first time”.

According to the 2012 McGraw Hill North America BIM SmartMarket Report, the percentage of companies using BIM jumped from 17 per cent in 2007 to 49 per cent in 2009 and to 71 per cent in North America 2012 with 74 per cent of contractors now using BIM compared to 70 per cent of architects.

BIM solutions were used in iconic projects such as Shanghai Tower in China, Freedom Tower in New York. However BIM has also been successful in recent regional projects of various scale and size such as::
- the King Abdullah Sports City complex in Jeddah,
- Masdar’s headquarters at Masdar City,
- Al-Mafraq hospital in Abu Dhabi,
- the Midfield Terminal Building – Abu Dhabi International Airport (MTB-ADIA),
- the museum projects at Sadiyaat island

In all projects BIM adoption ensures that projects are completed more quickly, more accurately, more safely and at less cost than comparable non-BIM projects. A recent study from McGraw-Hill Construction found that BIM adoption is growing dramatically by contractors and that more investment is planned.

Two UK academics, Prof Nashwan Dawood and Dr Mohamad Kassem from Teesside University, have been awarded a grant of $940,000 to lead a research project aimed at developing “a whole life cycle information flow approach enabled by BIM protocols and technologies” for Qatar’s construction industry. The two UK academics will work with Qatar University and HOCHTIEF ViCon to deliver the project. The project research team has been collecting data and interviewing engineers and project managers on some of the major projects underway for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The project will seek to identify the root-causes of poor information flows and the approach undertaken will be industry and client-led. There is an ambition to develop Qatar as the centre of excellence in the Gulf for advances in the management of information in construction projects.

A recent NBS BIM survey, reveals that 95% of construction professionals are now aware of BIM and usage among those professionals will jump from 54% to 93% within three years. However a recent ITP BIM breakfast meeting few attendees were willing to raise their hands to indicate that they had a full understanding of BIM.

Contractors, who particularly benefit from BIM, are beginning to insist that their consultants — including architects — must also work with BIM. This trend will accelerate due to government pressure to reduce costs, and energy consumption and to improve health and safety, and on-time completion and competitive pressure will force smaller contractors to adopt BIM. Many of those contractors will similarly insist that their supply chains also use BIM.

There is the feeling in Dubai that after years of fairly lax regulation on project management – which had undoubtedly resulted in a large amount of substandard projects, not to mention delays and budget overspends – the use of BIM can only serve to benefit Dubai’s construction industry

Understandably many are put off BIM adoption because of the anticipated costs, or perceived complex technology issues and the culture change needed to maximise the benefits. So ask about our AEC Construction solution that is an end to end solution that also encompasses estimation tendering and operations as well as BIM and at an affordable price with fast deployment.

Document Management – Dubai, U.A.E., Qatar, Kuwait, KSA, Oman, Bahrain – anywhere! Synergy Software Systems

March 4th, 2014

As we move more and more into the digital world the need to access documents electronically, anytime anywhere is of increasing importance. To complement our financial and erp systems we have also provide solutions such as fax software, print management software and document management. Many erp systems have some facility for document linking or attachment e.g Dynamics CRM and Dynamics Ax. However the document repository is usually best kept outside the erp system for many reasons e.g.:
- Users need an erp license to access documents stored in an erp system
- Documents stored in an erp system are usually static in contact because those relate to specific transactions and time and should not be subject to changes and version control.
- Documents take up database space and increase the size of the erp system back ups thereby extending downtime on the operational system
- There may be document workflow processes outside of erp.
- OCR scanning and searching are generally not supported within erp systems

Filehold is a modern feature rich comprehensive document system which integrates with SharePoint and we extend it with Arabic OCR. It is available on premise or on-cloud.

There are several considerations to select and to introduce a document management system. For example:

How many documents?
What types of documents?
What is the mix of document types e.g., what % are created soft copy by applications e.. erp systems, email systems and thus don’t need scanning or physical printing and filing , and how many are received as hard copies e.g. faxes, or printed contracts?
Do you receive faxes as hard copy print outs or do you use a fax software to send and to receive?
How many users?
How many locations?
Will hard copy documents need to be scanned?
If so, then will there be a central scanning department or will users have individual access to scanners?
Do you already have scanners in place?
Is OCR scan conversion required?
If so then does this need to be multi lingual e.g. Arabic or English?
Do you need to ocr scan dual language within the same document? e.g. a bi-lingual Arabic-English contract?
How much integration is needed to other systems and how easy is this e.g. from within email systems, or within erp systems?
will the document management system work with you collaboration system e.g. SharePoint?
Does it offer version controls?
Does it offer workflow approval processes?
What will be done about legacy hard copy documents- how many are there?
How long would it take to unbind, scan, ocr convert, index, and then re-file?
Does it provide the right security Access controls to digital documents rather than to physical documents?
Which physical documents will still also be filed?
How should it be phased in e.g. by one function or one department at a time?

Business case?
For a knowledge-worker time is money. If the average annual cost of an engineer is ~$100k then how much of that workers time is consumed searching for amendments in paper contracts?

Modern businesses create complex contracts that often require multiple revisions and many authorizations. Creating and managing those contracts electronically in a document management system saves time and frustration and ensures that everyone is working with the most current version of a document.

Filehold provides important features for contract management that : maintains security, allows users to collaborate, provides alerts and reminders as to contract expiration or renewal dates. It is essential that the solution allows project users at site users to look at and even check out contract documents from anywhere in the world from where they have access to the Internet.

Engineering organizations and engineering departments create large and complex design and report documents. Being able to put these documents into a document management workflow for review and approval saves time and money. Tight version control ensures everyone uses with the most recent version of a document.

There are obvious cost saving benefits stemming from document management such as reduced printing, postage, and physical storage costs. The more significant benefits from the business impacts:
• Rapid find and search of key data and files for timely decision making based on all the related information
• Version control to ensure the correct prices, designs and contractual terms are used.
• Streamlined electronic processes,
• Support for compliance and audit trails and avoidance of legal disputes

If you are drowning in documents and want to streamline our business, reduce errors, improve collaboration, reduce errors and ensure compliance then document management is often one of the fastest solutions to implement with the quickest ROI.

Construction Software – Dubai, Synergy Software Systems

March 3rd, 2014

We have implemented construction solutions for both local and international companies for over 15 years. We were early pioneers of 5D BIM adoption in the region.

However there are challenges with most solutions. Traditional design processes and layout documents do not easily sit with erp systems. Construction projects do not easily sit in a PSA accounts module. Most erp systems do not understand the concept of measurement books, or a cost to complete process. Construction formulas for costing a trench or a wall do not sit easily in a BOM. A BOQ and a WBS need a different understanding than a BOM and a route. Manufacturing sub contract is much like a purchase order with supply of some components. a construction sub contract order is a self contained order with its own contract, project BOQ, and WBS, measurements, applications, approvals, staged payments, advances, retentions etc.

Implementation time that is longer than the life of a project is also difficult for construction companies. All too often there are just too many complex integration is needed because a solution only addresses one part of the business.

We have seen many solutions and erp add-ons, and found there is generally a mismatch between the market needs and what solutions can offer, especially for the mid-market contractor. We are now able to offer a purpose designed construction erp system which we presented at Gitex last year and is now getting a lot of interest in this region.
Our applications interact with several third party applications like AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, MS project and so on. AEC Apps are competent in converting 2D drawings to 3D models on Auto CAD platform.

AEC applications bring together contributions of project engineers, planners, designers, managers, accountants, tax consultants and construction professionals under unified business environment to think and act alike while managing projects in a better and cost-effective manner.

GCC Projects – Project Management software solutions – Synergy Software Systems Dubai

July 8th, 2012

There multiple projects costing $ billions /millions in this region.

There are many considerations  run a  successful project:

Manpower varies project by project and the number of concurrent projects also varies . SaaS  licensing can be very advantageous in this case. Vary the number of licences you need by month, only pay for hardware usage based on the number of users and amount of data storage needed month to month.  No time delay for new servers for a new project, no wasted licences or hadware capacity when the project is over – predictable costs that are easily identified to charge to project.

Managing the process from lead to opportunity to quote to estimate to budget, forecast etc

RFQ, PR, PO MR approvals, many other document centric workflow approvals

Planning – high level phasing , detailed WBS, resource scheduling, programme management,

Risk management

Secure Collaboration – projects are a paper factory of multiple commericalcontracts, insurance, certifications, with the need for  version control, expiry dates, document approval workflows, digital signature, fast search across and within contracts

QA , inspection, incidents  and investigation

Budgeting, consolidation and financial compliance

Grant and fund management

Timesheets, access control at site, payroll across countries, multi shift, sub-contractor labour, mobile between project.

Project stores and inventory control. Capital projects, Rental,Asset tracking, Mobiel and bar code solutions

Reporting and dashboards

Our Software solutions help you better manage all these areas

BIM integrated model for design, estimation, control and planning

Mind mapping for high level plans that export direct to MS Project, use for lessons learned, PESTEL risk analysis, meeting agendas, project team strucutre and many more uses for project managers

Dynamics CRM  track future projects and meetings with influencers that create the specifications, track opportunties and quotes through user defined stages, also maintain details of meetings and contacts with vendors, subcontractors, financial and legal advisors , government  contacts, auditors, H@S inspectors etc. Mobile options SaaS options

Dynamics Ax incudes a full PSA features, advanced project management accounting, grant and fund management, integration to MS Project, and additonal module options for construction projects Advanced multi company financials, make and buy to project options, integrted workflow engine for RFQ, PR etc, advanced mrp, HR, resource scheduling, Service module , case managmeent, QA module, multi company process, eg intercompany journals, orders, cosnildiated requsitoons and central pruchaisng, centralised productionplanning across companies etc. Mobil and SaaS options

Confidential secure document storage and collaboration workspaces are required for most projects  so that material can be accessed by multiple, authorised stakeholders from many locations. Whether an M&A project, a new product launch, a prestige new building design, an exhibition or event, a commercial tender or  a feasibility study all need secure storage authorised collaborative access, version control, ease and speed of search, controls on: who can see what, who can copy and print, who can approve what.

Digital signatures with documemt workflow speed up decision making processes and reduce risk of fraud. Mulitple signatories each approving a  specific  segments of a document, the ability to mass sign every page of a document, or to sign multiple POs at one go,   in built version control and audit features are soem of the features that help auotmate process while increasing control.

Fixed asset depreciation only buy the licences you need for the FA users- works with most erp systems and is much easier, more functional and more cost effective very easy flexble aquistion,  depreciation and disposal .  Optional modules for Asset tagging, counting and tracking, capitalise asset projects, planned asset maintenance. Ask about our asset tagging, and take-on and annual count  service.

Detailed consolidation, budgetting, forecasting and planning – many feature – top down bottom up, based on prior priod seasonality and % change etc  Built in dashboards and ad hoc what if querying, reforecast, period on period comparison by multiple dimensions, KPIs ,  etc. Use SSRS and Poer Pivot for further analysis and reporting.

Construction companies often have  a multitude of legacy solutions to integrate our  specialist mapping tool makes this easy especially when there are system upgrades.

When you have thousands of workers at site, who may be deploye dot dfferent tasks accessed via different entrance gates  you need a robust access controland T@A system that can hold all the  templates and share the across the network,-  that means a very small file size- per worker, at shift chage over there is little time so   that needs a very fast device with low rate of false reading.  Devices need to work when labourers have cut fingers, dirty hands. Devices need to be easy to use, to not lose transactions in a power cut, to hold staff rostas and to integrate with Payroll systems. only the Ingersoll Rand Hand Punch and the Interflex Software can provide all those features, which is why it is used by  large airlines, ports, event organisers like the Olympics, of football stadiums, and those with complex shifts and 24×7 opertions like hospitals, retail stores, and hotels. Devices can be installedon buses so workers can clock in  as they leave the bus, or mobile gate units  can be installed at sites.

Paryroll and HR systems become useful when you have mote than 50 employees  nn to have when you have more than 100 employees and essential when you are dealing with thousands of employees.  Tracking employyee accrused benefits across projects and countries with timesheet integration, for mutiple benefts and deductions, multiple shift patterns, and different treatment by grade, nationality etc needs both experienced implementors, and a powerful payroll engine that can handle multiple languages and currencies.

Enterprise Project Management (EPM) is the latest release of Micorsft Project Server and now sits on SharePoint. If you are supporting multiple proejcts e.g roll-out out of a chain of retail stores or hotels , then each site will have multiple projects, from construction, to fit out, to multiple software projects.

ERP Partner, Dubai Middle East, Dynamics Ax, Sunsystems, Microsoft CRM

June 6th, 2011

A paintbrush is just that, a paintbrush that in the right hands can wield art that is priceless.

So goes the way of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. Erp is a business  tool (albeit a sophisticated one) and like any other tool, in the hands of a skilled craftsman can work wonders  for an organization.

Why is this relevant? Time and time again we see prospective customers looking into the depths of an ERP system demo, orcreating  1000 quedstion rfp for a capability to meet a “requirement,” but don’t use the same scrutiny when looking for the partner to implement and to support the system. A reference check may be completed, but a serious discussion around ideas to IMPROVE their business does not take place. They end up with a new paintbrush and use it the same way. To change metaphors this is what we call changing the piano and playing the same tune.

An ERP implementation partners all have a set of brushes and they can all paint, but some have significantly more expertise in wielding the same brush as another.

So  don;t paying so much attention to the system being implemented and start paying more attention to the partner  chosen, and when you look s the cost quesiton whether his works are really  masterpieces.

A good partner does not recommend a bad system and will make the system work for you. Even the best system implemented by novices and amateurs will fail. The use of sub-contract labour is also a consideration. What happens when you want to repaint if the expert painters have left, how much more  committed to quality is a partner providing local support with its own resources?  Why do some partners charge more than others- maybe you get what you pay for – no partners want to lose business so if they have been in business a long time, then they will price at market rates – if that seems high you have to wonder why another would undercut and  what else they cut in quality and service.

Most cars can list a similar list of features, a  driving wheel an engine, 4 wheels, brakes lights etc so why doesn’t everyone just drive the cheapest one? After all they get you from A to B. Why go to a certified garage when freelancer engieerss will cut the cost?  Why buy branded spares?

No support ocntract is like no insurance cover? And not all insurance polices are the same. Is there a skilled, manned helpdesk to answer queries?

So why use a different basis of selection for your key business system and partner?.

Buying a new car to rpelace oen witjh bugs, or a new paintbrush that is easier to use is  relatively painless comapred to having to switch implementation partners mi- project.  In the long run the right solution implemented by the right partner is the most effective, and the fastest, and the cheapest.

ROI on BIM?

February 15th, 2011

Every picture tells a story, doesn’t it? Yes! but a model tells a much more engaging story, especially for Owners who are not comfortable with drawing sets.

Present your project with a 3D model, and quickly show two construction sequence alternatives based on the model, or quickly change the scope in a particular location to make your presentation resonate with the Owner.

Take your 2D drawings, locate any changes and missing drawings and generate a 2D Drawings Change Report, and then produce a 3D model for business development.  .After coordination, generate Coordination Drawing Sets.

Subcontractors provide submittal data and equipment information to ensure accurate modeling and to mimic near-installation conditions. Expert users then generate detailed coordination drawings fully annotated with dimensions including: to column lines, to steel, elevations, etc. Break out the drawings by trade or and let the  project team review for accuracy and efficiency and then final delivery for use in the field.

To bring this 2D capability in-house, use Doc Set Manager – our solution for collating and comparing thousands of construction drawings to pinpoint where changes have occurred between the versions.

 ROI:

1. Save a staggering amount of time identifying changes (or missing sheets) in construction drawing sets.

2. A business development BIM model will help win the deal.

3. Off-site fabrication shaves weeks off the schedule and improves quality.

4. Clash analysis, to design out problems before those get to site

5. Integration between model costs and plan to support what if analysis and optimal design

6. Integrated location based planning ofr effcient scheduling and visual reporting againsr the model to highlight bottlenecks and speed up decision making.

BIM – 10 reasons to discuss Vico Software with Synergy Software Systems

February 1st, 2011

Number Ten: Your competitors  are using it. (Page 33 of McGraw-Hill’s BIM SmartMarket Report cites that the most important benefit for Contractors is to market BIM capabilities to win new clients.)

Number Nine: Certainly the owners are asking for it. (Page 34 of the same report states that “Owners who use BIM see a very high rate of ROI.” Watch the recorded McGraw-Hill SmartMarket Report webinar and see all the stats for yourself.) And yes tenders in the UAE are now specifying BIM models.

Number Eight: The young smart personnel that run your projects want to use it

Number Seven: The subs want to use it; they want a better and more organized piece of the pie. (Research shows that optimizing your schedule with Vico Control decreases schedule duration by 10% without exposing the project to any additional risk.)

Number Six: The CEO of your company wants you to use it  to win more business. Period. With most GCs putting together a model for the bid, your firm can stand out from the pack when you explain to the owner that your model is not just for marketing – it will drive the schedule and keep the project on budget.)

Number Five: It would be really great to know if the subs’ quantities are actually correct. (Vico Office Takeoff Manager extracts the construction-caliber quantities from the model geometry from which the schedule and estimate are derived. When a subcontractor submits a bid, you can check their quantities against yours so that you cna validate that  the labor assumptions and productivity rates are correct.

Number Four: Use unit prices from your subs that are loaded and  fill in the quantities forma great and very exact model and quantity takeoff from it. (See above!)

Number Three: Use  a Trimble Total Station to layout your MEP, as well as your concrete, formwork, and anything else using the robotic Total Station and LM80. (Seismic bracings and hanger placement can be modeled, transferred to the LM80, and shot on-site with the Trimble Total Station.

Number Two: Use a flowline. location-based, schedule to help you finish early. Very large construction firms are completely standardized on Vico Control.

Number One: The number one reason is you’ve got to win the project. There are many companies bidding for every single project and it’s very clear that companies that deeply understand BIM and can explain to the owner how they can remove risk time and cost , and better manage the project, will win. Vico Software is now in use on some   projects in excess of $100,000,000 that were  won recently because of this very reason. The selection committees said that the difference between the winner and the loser was not all the other items they considered, but it was their ability to use and to bring to bear this 5D methodology to de-risk the project.

Benefits of BIM strategy with Vico Soft

January 4th, 2011

Do you have what it takes to make BIM a strategic initiative in your firm? Are you ready to start winning new business with BIM, performing effectively and profitably, and offering the Owner a better experience? Vico can help.

During the last five years, Vico’s customers proved for themselves the benefits of BIM. Innovation  drove new project wins, customers exploited 3D modeling, clash detection, model-based coordination, rigorous content planning, multi-model management, change management, and model-derived block drawings.

Some went further into 5D with model-derived quantity takeoff, cost estimating, and location-based scheduling.

It is no exaggeration to say that the Vico customers who “went the deepest” are the same companies who reaped the most benefit from the technology.  They literally picked the jobs they wanted to win, developed the best plans, recruited the best teams, executed more effectively in the field, and delivered a new and exciting owner experience.

So how do you get started?

Contractors from all over the world turn to Vico for advice about getting started with 5D BIM. Our specailist  cosnultants at Synergy Software Systems jhav eworked in the ocnstrucitonindustry and know what GCs need to successfully implement BIM within their organizations.

Stephen Strickland, one of Vico Software’s  onsite project managers, recently offered his recommendations for contractors who are considering the impact of BIM. Stephen began his career in law, but got the construction bug watching buildings go up in Detroit. He quickly became involved with BIM while working for a large General Contractor where he served as a project BIM manager and helped outline new implementation processes.

Legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden always told his players “failing to prepare is preparing to fail” – I think contractors should always keep this phrase in mind when making decisions about BIM. When you combine the rampant inefficiency that has plagued the construction industry with the advent of modern technology, the shift toward BIM as the hub of project information is not a matter of IF, but rather a matter of when and how. If you have not already started building an infrastructure to develop the knowledge, skills, and workflows required for BIM implementation, then you are preparing to fail.

 2. Every Project is an Opportunity:
No excuse! Utilize BIM in some way on every project you perform. Pick one BIM use and apply it on a single floor or area of a building, to gain practical knowledge and experience that will benefit your company in the long run. While each individual pilot implementation may only seem like a small step, the accumulated value of the knowledge and experience gained from such exercises will be exponential when applied across your entire organization.

 3. Involve Everyone:
The phrase “lonely BIM” was coined to describe parties utilizing BIM in isolation on a project. Avoid thiswhen you  implement BIM within your own company. The development of an effective BIM strategy requires personnel from all parts of your organization to contribute the information and feedback necessary to shape the integration of BIM into standard workflows. At a minimum, at least one person from each operational unit should participate in some manner to guide your BIM strategy – don’t just leave it all to “the BIM guy.”

   4. Master Your Information:
If you want to fully leverage the power of BIM, you must develop an organized and systematic approach to classify building elements and data. While BIM provides the platform to efficiently integrate and analyze huge amounts of project information, the output will only be useful when the proper relationships are established between data and objects within the model. Investing  time and resourcesto thoroughly understand and organize all the data your company utilizes throughout the project lifecycle will enable you to map this data to objects and unlock the full capabilities of BIM.

  5. BIM is Not a Volunteer Activity:
For BIM initiatives beyond the project level, the prevailing mindset is to leave it up to “internal champions” to take up BIM as a personal cause and lead the charge for awareness and change within the organization. While such people are essential to the success of BIM, even the most passionate individuals cannot succeed unless they are provided with dedicated time within work hours. BIM is far too important to be developed only by volunteers in their spare time – if you want to make BIM a priority, find the right people within your company and find a way to incorporate BIM into their weekly job responsibilities.
