OpalisRobot™

Connect System Management tools

and Automate Repetitive IT Processes

Drag, drop, and link objects to construct automated IT processes.

The key to optimal performance of your IT infrastructure is to perform

regular maintenance.

In many organizations even well understood procedures, critical to the health of applications, are

overlooked, or are completed sporadically due to an overburdened IT department.

The inefficient management of IT workloads and the lack of defined maintenance schedules can negatively impact

performance and compromise availability. To improve performance and increase operational

efficiency, IT shops are looking for ways to automate routine tasks and eliminate the time staff

spend on repetitive house-keeping chores.

OpalisRobot enables IT staff to capture and execute critical maintenance tasks in a repeatable,

reliable format that can be easily maintained and updated as necessary.

Adopting a formal maintenance procedure also utilizes the maintenance window more effectively and reduces the

time applications are kept off-line.

Automation of maintenance procedures starts by analyzing the necessary steps, this includes

assessing the roles of personnel, applications, and systems ― then orchestrating those tasks into a

sequence of automated steps. OpalisRobot rewards organizations with optimal performance,

increased productivity, and more efficient use of resources.

OpalisRobot’s robust automation engine ensures consistent performance and delivers the tools to

implement procedures that model what IT staff do manually. It automates maintenance procedures

through the use of workflow, conditional logic, dynamic data, and event and calendar based

scheduling. OpalisRobot also provides integration between popular system management and

admin tools, email, databases, logs, file systems, and native operating system functions.

Features

System Management Connection Objects

OpalisRobot provides pre-defined objects to connect and manage leading system management

tools including Microsoft System Management Server (SMS), Veritas Backup Exec, and Microsoft

Operations Manager (MOM).

Operating System Connection Objects

OpalisRobot provides pre-defined objects to connect and manage server components most

frequently involved in maintenance procedures such as file system, logs, databases, server

instrumentation, tools, run commands, etc.

Object-based Workflow Environment

OpalisRobot provides reusable object libraries for constructing worklets; even complex processes

can be automated without programming or scripting.

Robust Automation Engine

OpalisRobot provides modeling and execution of complex workflows that support decision

branches, dynamically changing data, and extensive notification options.

OpalisRobot CAP for MOM

The OpalisRobot CAP for MOM (Microsoft Operations Manager) provides automated corrective

actions and maintenance procedures based on MOM alerts or events.

OpalisRobot can also report errors of IT processes to MOM, enabling users to centralize error management in the MOM

Operator Console. The OpalisRobot CAP for MOM also provides users with an easy way to

MOM-enable applications that MOM does not support.

OpalisRobot CAP for SMS

The OpalisRobot CAP for SMS (Microsoft Systems Management Server) provides the tools to

coordinate SMS software deployments with other system operations, such as specific sequence

shut down and restore procedures for applications and services. This coordination allows system

administrators to automate manual tasks while reducing the amount of time that servers are offline

for maintenance.

OpalisRobot CAP for Veritas Backup Exec

The OpalisRobot CAP for Veritas Backup Exec enables users to execute backup jobs in an

event-driven fashion,  to coordinate backups with other systems tasks, such as

stopping and starting applications and system services.

With  the OpalisRobot CAP for Veritas Backup Exec, organizations can run backup jobs quickly and efficiently, reducing

downtime and increasing availability of critical IT assets.
